“Hi Jane, I just wanted to say a huge thank you on behalf of all of us at Hillyfield for a wonderful day yesterday. We loved the assemblies and the workshops and the kids were thrilled to be involved. I hope things went well at the Hill too. I will look into what we can do about purchasing the books and will get back to you ASAP. Thanks again and we hope to see you again in the near future” (teacher at Hillyfield Academy, London Borough of Waltham Forest)

Thank you so much for the amazing visit on Monday. My year 6 class were enthralled as you brought the Caribbean into the classroom. The atmosphere was alive with the smells and sounds of the beautiful islands- we could all visualise your Nana from your wonder poem.
You have a way with words – you manage to say exactly what we all think, but cannot put into words ourselves.
The children have written some wonderful poetry in response to you reciting them some of yours. my favourite was the busy market place. I actually felt the hot sun on me, feeta ching and crowds pushing.
Please do not stop writing. We all can’t wait for your next book ….when wil it be. Hurry. You are welcome back anytime.
With love form Mrs Kelly Wright, Key Stage 2 Co-ordinator, and the children of Year 6 Ruislip Gardens Primary School”
